Timeclock.Earnspoke.app
Your workday. Clearly recorded.
FREE ANDROID PILOT • Design4U Company • Version 0.2.1-pilot
Record your shifts, review your hours, and keep your records in your hands. Built for one worker per installation, with manual punches, optional automatic GPS clocking, and practical reports.
What’s new in the pilot
• Eight built-in themes, custom theme import/export, and clearer text contrast.
• A larger hours display, scenery, and rounded summary cards.
• Screenshots enabled, plus an in-app Help & setup guide.
• Optional Gmail SMTP defaults and setup guidance.
• A location disclosure before automatic-tracking setup.
• Encrypted portable backups and PDF, spreadsheet, and CSV exports.
01 — Join and install
Ask sean@design4ucompany.com for a pilot invitation. Google Play enrollment is not yet open; the organizer will provide the approved testing link when available. The pilot is free—no payment or subscription is required.
Install only the Timeclock build supplied by the organizer. Keep your personal EarnSpoke app unchanged and do not import its backups into Timeclock. If replacing an existing Timeclock installation, export and verify a backup first; different installation types can use different signing certificates.
02 — Set up your workday
1. Open Settings and enter your name and worksite.
2. Choose your rounding, breaks, and any pay rules, then save.
3. Open Help & setup → Show setup guide when you need a reminder.
4. Keep an independent record of hours during the pilot. Pay estimates depend on your settings and are not a substitute for payroll records.
03 — Record and review a shift
1. Leave Auto paused for your first test.
2. Open Clock and clock in, then clock out.
3. Open Timesheet to review raw punch times, location, calculated hours, and any flagged shift.
4. Compare the result with your written log. A missing GPS fix does not prevent a manual punch.
04 — Turn on optional GPS clocking
1. Open Auto and read the location disclosure.
2. Follow the readiness checks: phone location, precise/background permission, notifications, and battery/background settings.
3. Set the worksite center, radius, and time zone.
4. Enable automatic tracking when the required checks are ready. Test an arrival and departure against a separate written log.
5. Use Pause Auto to stop monitoring. You can also revoke location permission in Android settings.
Automatic clocking uses precise background location, including when the app is closed or not in use. Test manual and automatic methods separately at first. If tracking stops, check permissions, phone location, and battery restrictions, then review flagged or missing punches.
05 — Make it comfortable to read
Open Settings → Appearance and choose one of eight built-in themes. Appearance changes save immediately. You can also import or export a custom theme. Theme files are separate from time-record backups.
Screenshots need no extra app permission. On most Android phones, briefly press Power + Volume Down. If blocked, reopen the updated app; managed work-profile policies may still restrict screenshots. Redact personal details before sharing.
06 — Preview reports without sending mail
Open Email and use the export preview to check PDF and spreadsheet reports. Review dates, breaks, rounding, and totals before sharing exported files. Email delivery is optional: the pilot can be completed with exports only. Leave scheduled delivery disabled during initial testing.
07 — Optional Gmail setup
Choose Use Gmail defaults in the mail settings: smtp.gmail.com, port 465. Enter your sender address and matching username. Use a Google app password when your account supports it—not your normal Google password. Google may require 2-Step Verification; some managed accounts do not allow app passwords.
Save the SMTP settings only if you want email delivery. Confirm every recipient and the required self-copy before sending a report. Raw archives may include precise location data. Never share mail credentials with support.
08 — Back up before changing phones
1. Set a backup passphrase in Settings.
2. Export a portable backup from Auto and store it somewhere safe.
3. Keep the passphrase separately; it is required to restore.
4. Test restore only on a spare test installation. Restoring clears SMTP credentials and disables scheduled email.
5. Export before uninstalling or clearing app storage. Android automatic backup is disabled.

Privacy policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026. This notice covers the Timeclock.Earnspoke.app free pilot app.
Records on your phone
The app stores your name, worksite, raw punches, calculated hours, optional pay estimates, break rules, review acknowledgements, location readings and report history on your device. Appearance and consent preferences are stored locally. Timeclock uses a separate application identity from personal EarnSpoke.
Location
Manual punches request a current location; a missing fix does not prevent recording time. When enabled, automatic tracking uses precise location in the background, including when the app is closed or not in use, to detect worksite arrivals and departures. It saves visit/location readings and recent tracking state rather than a continuous travel history. Pause Auto to stop monitoring. Android location permission can also be revoked in system settings.
External services and sharing
The optional map downloads tiles from OpenStreetMap. Tile requests disclose your IP address and the viewed map area to that service. Android and Google Play location services operate under their own policies. There is no added advertising or analytics SDK.
Email is optional and off by default for a new installation. If configured, reports are sent through your selected SMTP provider to your selected recipients and required self-copy. Reports contain work records and may include precise location data when raw archives are enabled. PDF, spreadsheet and CSV exports are readable files. Their recipients and storage providers handle copies under their own policies. Nothing is sent to the developer automatically for feedback.
Storage, backups and deletion
Local ledger and mail credentials use device-encrypted storage. Portable backups require your passphrase and exclude SMTP credentials; restoring clears mail credentials and disables scheduled email. Android automatic backup is disabled. Uninstalling or clearing app storage removes local records. Export a backup first if you need them. Files you exported and reports already delivered remain wherever you or recipients saved them. Theme exports are separate from time-record backups.
Screenshots and feedback
Screenshots are allowed, including dialogs and app-switcher previews. Before sharing feedback, remove names, email addresses, pay details, coordinates and passwords. Send feedback through the channel provided by the pilot organizer. No automatic feedback upload is enabled.
